In the last few days I've found the time to implement a comments engine for Microcyte. This website is the first Microcyte install to have the comments engine rolled out.
Opinion: why is the Macbook Air a full 300 pounds (600 dollars) more expensive than in the US?
Microcyte gets a comments engine!
Its been planned on paper for some time but now I've finally had the time in the last few days to add a comments engine to Microcyte. Its been added as a plugin to the standard editing system so it doesn't actually disturb any of the pre-existing codebase.
The comments form and output are fully customisable using templates and the comment ordering can be set to ascending or descending. The editable system can be used by the site administrator to edit or delete individual comments. As with the rest of the Microcyte system, the comments are stored and managed in XML files so no database is necessary and its all fully portable.
So what do you think? leave a comment below and let me know! :)
