I was lead developer on this project right up until my departure from Affinity New Media in Mid 2007.

May 7, 2011Best Price Beds was a fully e-Commerce website development I worked on as my final project with Affinity New Media in Norwich. It was a challenging brief which ended up leading to a massive amount of bespoke development on the Affinity Control Centre CMS as it was at that time.
Especially interesting features included a fully dynamic filtering system which allowed the site administrator to build filtering blocks which could be assigned to any type of product and which would allow the website user to filter the category product listings based on product specific parameters. Its worth bearing in mind this was achieved in Classic ASP long before the days of Magento which made this sort of functionality common place.
Its also worth mentioning that the Affinity Control Centre CMS also had multi-website support for e-commerce sites allowing a single administrator to manage a common product catalogue across multiple sites, each with independent branding and functionality. During my time at Affinity I contributed a great deal to the Control Centre and as the team lead developer I was instrumental in helping to guide its ongoing development under the oversight of Karl Izzard, who is still the Technical Director at Affinity and for whom I have a great deal of respect.
