The new MacBook Air from Apple appears to be £300 ($600) hundred pounds more expensive than the US model, come on Apple, this is ludicrous even for you!
Opinion: why is the Macbook Air a full 300 pounds (600 dollars) more expensive than in the US?
MacBook Air price rip-off
If you go to the UK Apple store and click on a MacBook Air you might be slightly surprised to see it priced at £1199, whilst on the US store its available for a snip at $1799. Accounting for the exchange rate which is roughly 2 dollars to every pound the MB Air should clock in at around £900 here in the UK on a straight conversion.
So Apple, why then do we need to shell out another £300 for what is already an expensive proposition. In the UK we're used to paying over the odds, but nearly 50% extra is just a bad joke. Its a shame but I really can't see Apple selling many of these into the main stream. Its certainly priced me out and I'm the target market!
Let just hope Apple see sense and lowers the price to a rather more acceptable level soon!
